Public administration is a field where a person works for the government and the various government agencies and is primarily responsible for handling the different administrative duties related to that particular department so that it runs smoothly. They are part of the government’s executive division and have to make sure that the policies and rules set by the government are implemented effectively. They are also experts in their individual fields and some of them at the senior level may have direct say in the creation of various administrative policies of the government which will be ultimately implemented on the public if approved by the Senate. They also provide counsel on the various political, civil, economic and social situation of the country.

The duties and responsibilities of a public administrator will involve:

  • Working for the various aspects of an administrative office at the local, state and federal level and ensure that these areas of public service is managed efficiently or not

  • Work with other governments and the corporate sector in some cases

  • A bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in any subject and preferably some training in public administration
  • Work experience in their respective fields for at least 2 years

The salary of a public administrator depends on the political party or state one works for but one can get $80,000 per month or more, besides many other allowances.
