Electronics Technician Job Profile and Description

The key role of an Electronics Technician to service, maintain and repair electronic industrial equipment. A person in this position ought to be well versed with all industrial safety norms of operations. Such persons are also required to undertake trainings and follow all standard operating procedures of the establishment. An Electronics Technician is typically required to work under the supervision of a manager or supervisor.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the smooth functioning of all electronic machinery and equipments like computers, laptops, printers etc.
  • Conducting routine services and inspections and for ascertaining the smooth functionality of the equipments.
  • Repairing, formatting and refurbishing all malfunctions in the equipments and replacing necessary parts.
  • Completing all tasks as assigned by the supervising authority.
  • Submitting maintenance, service and evaluation reports to the supervising manager.
  • Filling order forms for placing orders for electronic spare parts.
  • Keeping a logbook record of all electronic repair and maintenance work that have been done.

Skills and Specifications

  • Should have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knack to detect electronic malfunctions and restore the same immediately.
  • Ability to effectively use electronic repair tools and testers.
  • Ability to effectively manage time and complete all tasks as assigned by the supervisor

Education and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or an associate’s degree or diploma in electronic engineering or any other related field of study from an accredited institution.
  • Post Graduate degree or diploma in electronic engineering or any other related field of study with about 2 – 3 years experience as an electronic technician.
