HVAC Mechanic Job Profile and Description

An HVAC Mechanic is accountable for the smooth operation and functioning of all heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems in a facility. Companies to provide prompt and effective after sales services to their customers recruit such mechanics. Individuals for this job require undergoing an induction and training process to get familiarized with company norms and processes of working.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Addressing customer complaints regarding their HVAC systems.
  • Thoroughly inspecting all the systems to detect defects and malfunctions and repair the same.
  • Conducting regular maintenances and service of HVAC systems and maintaining a cycle record of the same.
  • Procuring spare parts for replacement and filing necessary documentation for the same.
  • Following all standard operating procedures of the company.
  • Meeting deadlines and efficiently completing all tasks as assigned by the supervising authority.
  • Complying with all safety norms and regulations for repairing of the systems.
  • Appropriately handling testing tools and equipment.
  • Coordinating work functions with fellow workers.
  • Taking telephonic calls and enquires of clients and appropriately solving and addressing the same.

Skills and Specifications

  • Should have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to network with customers.
  • Ability to detect technical defects malfunctions and other faults.
  • Sound understanding of using all types of repair tools.

Education and Qualifications

  • High school degree, diploma or a GED equivalent qualification from a certified institution.
  • Bachelor’s degree or an associate’s degree in engineering or any other related field of study with 2 – 3 years of experience of working as an HVAC mechanic.
