Quick Lane Technician Job Profile and Description

A Quick Lane Technician is also widely referred to as a service technician and typically works in an automobile servicing facility. Individuals of such profiles are primarily accountable for the maintenance and upkeep of vehicles and ensuring customer satisfaction. Persons in such roles are required to work under the guidance of a supervising manager and follow all standard operating procedures of a company.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Inspection and overhauling of vehicles in the facility.
  • Interacting with customers to understand the issues pertaining to the vehicle.
  • Maintaining and upholding the standards of the establishment.
  • Complying with all automobile safety norms and regulations while conducting repairs procedures.
  • Estimating the cost and the time for repairing the vehicles.
  • Test driving vehicles to ensure that they are functioning seamlessly.
  • Efficiently managing time and meeting all specified deadlines and targets.
  • Effectively synchronising work with fellow workers and other organisational departments.
  • Keeping all maintenance records in a maintenance check sheet.
  • Completing all other tasks as assigned by the supervising manager.

Skills and Specifications

  • Should have excellent written as well as verbal communiqué skills and the ability to interact with customers.
  • Ability to effectively manage time and meet all specified deadlines.
  • Sound understanding of changing engine oils and vehicle overhauling procedures.

Education and Qualifications

  • High School degree, diploma or a GED equivalent qualification from an accredited institution.
  • Bachelor’s degree or an associate’s degree in mechanical engineering, or any other related discipline with about 2 – 3 years of experience as a quick lane technician.
