TV Repair Technician Job Profile and Description

A TV Repair Technician can either be self employed, recruited by a television manufacturing facility or by an electronics service centre.  Such individuals are required for providing after sales support and ensuring the proper functioning of television sets. Persons of this profile work under the directions of a manager and typically undergo a job training activity before commencing work in an establishment.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conducting repair and maintenance functions on television sets.
  • Detecting damages and other malfunctions and repairing the same.
  • Following all standard operating procedures of the establishment.
  • Working in tandem with the company policies.
  • Appropriately handling all repairs and testing equipments.
  • Interacting with customers to understand the issues of their television sets.
  • Checking the display settings and color tubes of the televisions.
  • Thoroughly inspecting and testing the electronic units and circuits in the televisions.
  • Testing the television sets to ensure the proper working of the same.
  • Effectively managing time and meeting all specified targets and deadlines.
  • Completing all tasks as assigned by the supervising authorities.

Skills and Specifications

  • Should have excellent written as well as verbal communication skills and the ability to interact with customers.
  • Sound understanding all technical aspects of television sets and ability to appropriately handle repair tools.

Education and Qualifications

  • High School degree, diploma or a GED equivalent qualification from an accredited institution.
  • Bachelor’s degree or an associate’s degree in electrical or electronic engineering, or any other related discipline with about 2 – 3 years of experience as a TV repair technician.
