Vehicle Parts and Supplies Specialist Job Profile and Description

A Vehicle Parts and Supplies Specialist plays a vital role in automobile repairs and manufacturing industry. An individual in this job is responsible for maintaining a comprehensive parts inventory and supplying the same to manufacturers and service centres. This job requires a candidate to display their expertise and experience in administration, organisation and also possess a sound technical understanding of automobile parts.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Managing the entire inventory of automobile parts.
  • Keeping a record of the entire inventory in the store.
  • Dispatching orders to manufacturers and service centres.
  • Ensuring the timely dispatch and delivery of the consignments.
  • Complying with all legal documentation processes for dispatch and procuring goods and supplies.
  • Ensuring that the quality of the vehicle parts meet the organisational standards.
  • Ascertaining the proper storage and handling of inventory in the warehouse or store.
  • Interacting with the automobile industry personnel to understand their requirements and supply the same.
  • Checking that the packaging, labelling and tagging of the parts are appropriately done.
  • Appropriately billing and invoicing of the dispatched goods.

Skills and Specifications

  • Should have excellent written as well as verbal communication skills and the ability to interact with vendors and customers.
  • Sound understanding of vehicle parts and their handling.

Education and Qualifications

  • High School degree, diploma or a GED equivalent qualification from a certified college.
  • Bachelor’s degree or an associate’s degree in automobile engineering, bookkeeping, supply chain or any other discipline with 2 – 3 years of experience as a vehicle parts specialist.
